I think many of us have experienced regret over the lack of convenient facilities for cyclists in our major cities when, during another trip to Europe, we saw cyclists, the number of which on roads is easily comparable to a number of motorists. The Bicycle is a great means of transportation around the city.
Unfortunately, we are not officials, municipal mayors do not work, the money for the construction of Bicycle lanes can not identify, however, we had the idea to realize a project that we could develop on its own and that would help in solving one of the problems of a man with a bike in the city.
We do not choose the Bicycle for their travel around town, because we don't know where you can go to have fun and not to worry much, where our bike is parked. Thus was born the idea to develop a mobile app that shows the existing Cycling infrastructure, in other words, we decided to create an app in which the user finds the right place, equipped with Bicycle Parking facilities and bike rental and repairs in your city.
We decided that this application will serve as a strong argument for owners of bikes that will be able at least to try out some route, and to all entertainment venues, cafes, shops and so on. it can be a reason to provide the school with Bicycle Parking. In short, our project seemed necessary and important, we have embarked on and, like any startup, thinking about the incubator and funding.
Being new, we had no experience to start and promote such a project, so I decided to apply to the incubator, where they wanted to receive expert help for effective positioning and promotion of the application. Our application is not supported, and an incubator in a private order said that the theme bikes they are not interested because “non-monetary” in addition, residents of the incubator already collect profit and got a long list of investors finally, we were advised to do something more “money”. Maybe they're right, but it's hard to face the reality, after reading books about startups, where they write that the important thing is to do something good and necessary. So we decided to continue.
Only with the support of the Cycling community, we were able to produce the project. From the very beginning we developed the site and attracted active users-cyclists which participated in the first point on our map. In addition, our team all share the idea that we're doing something useful, it gives strength, although the implementation time was quite long compared to our original plan.
The team was formed in September, the site launched in February, in may he released the app on the iPhone and in August for Android.
We thought such functions of the app and website:
— Ability to browse vilmesta around in the list / on the map
— Filtering velement by type (Bicycle Parking, bike store, Florimont, bike rental, other). Type “more” we end up renamed “infrastructure”. In the observed infrastructure parks, gardens, toilets and other useful cyclist.

We have a strategic partner — Electra Bicycle company, it supported the mood of the team and we continued to develop the project. We spent a lot of time and effort to the project and the help of a partner had by the way. Experience in creating project Velemento for us, of course, positive, because we achieved a particular result, moreover, believe that suggested something useful.
